Streamlight TLR-1 HL Weaponslight (630 Lumens) at 2013 SHOT Show
Streamlight is coming out with a couple great lights at the SHOT Show. Here is the information we have so far. Paul visited the Streamlight booth today and we will update this post as we get pictures and tech specs.
Streamlight TLR-1 HL
This high lumen beast of a weapons mounted tactical light features a polymer build and C4 LED light that packs 630 lumens. The TLR-1 HL also has a respectable 1.25 hour runtime considering the amount of light it puts out, and also comes with a strobe mode. The rail clamp allows it to be rapidly attached and detached from a wide range of weapons. There will also be variations of the TLR-1 HL with a red or green laser. Another nice advantage of the HL is that it doesn’t have an oversized head like the HP versions of some Streamlight lights. The Streamlight TLR-1 will run off standard Lithium 123A batteries.
We will keep you updated as we get more information.
Here is a picture we shot on his phone at the Streamlight booth:
Pics of EOTech Reaper Z and .300 Blackout / Whisper
We got some pics of the new Reaper Z and their .300 Blackout / Whisper Zero at the SHOT Show Range Day. The EOTech Reaper Z looks to be a rebranded version of the Zombie Stopper, at least from the look we got of it. The .300 Blackout / Whisper (XPS2-300) has a 2-dot ballistic drop reticle that allows the shooter to zero either subsonic or supersonic rounds. It is also the shortest and lightest of EOTech’s holographic sights to date.
We are meeting with EOTech tomorrow and will get some more of the technical information for both holographic sights.
Later today we will be attending the 2013 SHOT Show Media Day at the Range, where many of the SHOT Show vendors will be showing off their products with live demonstrations. If you can any questions you would like us to ask any of the vendors, you can contact us on any of these networks:

Surefire 4000 lumen Annihilator, 800 lumen P3X Fury and new X300 / X400 IR – 2013 SHOT Show
Surefire has announced their flashlight and weaponlight lineup for the 2013 SHOT Show and it has some incredible lights. The list includes a 4000 lumen rechargeable flashlight, IR versions of the X300 and X400 and weaponlight version of the P2X Fury and a new 800 lumen P3X Fury. Just don’t get too excited yet though, as many of the flashlights they announced at the 2012 SHOT Show still haven’t shipped yet.
Surefire Annihilator Flashlight – 4000 Lumens
Yes, you read that right. The Surefire Annihilator comes in at 4000 lumens. It will feature a rechargeable system with variable output to save on the battery draw when the blinding light is not needed.
Surefire E2D LED Defender Ultra Flashlight – 500 Lumens
A redesign of the E2D Defender, this Ultra version increases the lumens from 200 up to 500 with dual output.
Surefire P3X Fury Flashlight – 800 Lumens
One of our best selling flashlights of 2012 was the Surefire P2X Fury. Building on the success of the 600 lumen P2X Fury, the P3X Fury boasts 800 lumens! This should be a great flashlight.
Surefire P2X Fury Weaponlight Kit – 600 Lumens
Now here is a great idea. Take one of the best flashlights of 2012 and turn it into a weaponlight. 600 lumens and it can still be removed and used as a handheld model.
Surefire P3X Fury Weaponlight Kit – 800 Lumens
Just like the P2X Fury version, but featuring their new P3X Fury at 800 lumens!
Surefire BSF Shotgun Forend – 200 or 500 Lumens
Completely redesigned, the BSF Shotgun Forend features an ultra-high, dual output mode LED that can hit up to 500 lumens.
Surefire X300 V IR LED Weaponlight – 150 Lumens
Building upon their X300, this weaponlight will feature a white light or IR light mode.
Surefire X400 V IR Laser LED Weaponlight – 150 Lumens
Featuring a 150 lumen white light and a IR laser sight, the Surefire X400V-IR has a lot going for it. This could be why the X400-IR from the 2012 SHOT Show was never released.
EOTech Announcing Zombie Stopper II at 2013 SHOT Show?
We are hearing a rumor that EOTech is going to be coming out with a new Zombie Stopper model at the 2013 SHOT Show with a Reaper Z Pattern. Love it or hate it, the Zombie Stopper was one of the most popular items from the 2012 SHOT Show. We aren’t sure yet of how the Reaper Z is going to be featured as part of the holographic reticle or design, since it doesn’t match a dot configuration as far as we can tell.
This is what we currently know about the EOTech Zombie Stopper II:
Single CR123 battery
Biohazard reticle with 65MOA ring and 1MOA dot (Reaper Z pattern)
Doing some Google searches for Reaper Z, it seems like this graphic below is what it is based on. It could be just the biohazard part that makes up the reticle, but we don’t have any more info that what is above so far. We will keep our blog updated as we get more information.

We just ran a report of our training gun sales over the last year (August 2011 through July 2012), and thought it would be interesting information to share here on our blog. A few of the surprising facts were that 8 out of 10 of the training guns are Ring’s Blueguns, 5 of the top 10 are Glocks, and Ruger is well represented with the LCP at 7, LC9 at 9 and the LCR was at 11. The ASP Red Guns didn’t make an appearance until the 19th spot with their Smith and Wesson M&P training gun. Also, the first weighted training gun didn’t appear on our rankings until 91, with the Springfield XMD Weighted Version by Ring’s Blueguns.
1. Glock 17 / 22 Ring’s Blue Gun (FSG17)
The top spot belongs to the Glock 17 Blue Gun, with almost twice the sales of the #2 spot, and around 6 times the sales of the #10 spot. Because of the close similarities, this can also be used for training with a Glock 22 or Glock 31.
2. Glock 19 Ring’s Blue Training Gun (FSG19)
With almost double the sales of the #3 spot, the Glock 19 training gun by Ring’s took the #2 spot. This one also work for training as a Glock 23 or Glock 32.
Blackhawk Tactical has a very limited selection of just the most popular weapons, but they make a quality training gun at an extremely competitive price over the blue and red training guns.
4. Ring’s Training Knife (FSTK)
Not technically a ‘Training Gun’ but the blue training knife by Ring’s was #4 on our list. A lot of combat training requires disabling and removing weapons from attackers, and having a non-sharp knife to simulate the combat with is a must.
5. 1911 Blue Training Gun (FS1911)
The 1911 and it’s variants is one of the most mass produced pistols in history, making the 1911 blue gun our fifth best selling training gun over the last year.
6. Blackhawk Tactical Glock 17 Gray Training Gun
The gray version of the Glock 17 demo gun that was already #3 on our list. Combining the orange and gray versions would have moved the Blackhawk Glock 17 training gun up to the seconds spot on our list.
7. Ruger LCP Blue Training Gun (FSLCP)
Ruger was well represented on our list, and they come in at #7 with the LCP.
8. TASER X-26 Blue Training Gun (FSX26)
With the TASER’s increasing role in law enforcement over the last decade, the sales of the X-26 TASER blue training weapon have increased every year since it was released.
9. Ruger LC9 Blue Training Gun (LC9)
The LC9 hasn’t even turned 2 years old yet, but made a huge splash at the 2011 SHOT Show, then went on to win Shooting Industry Academy of Excellence’s Handgun of the Year the same year. For a weapon that new to be showing up on our list already is a great testament to the popularity of the LC9.
10. Glock 21 Blue Training Gun (FSG21)
With over 65% share of the handgun market in the US, Glock once again appears on our top 10 list with the Glock 21 Bluegun by Ring’s.

EOTech Holographic Sights now available at On Duty Gear
As a direct dealer of EOTech we have access to the full line of EOTech holographic sights, weapons lights and night vision gear. We have now added the holographic sights to our selection of products at On Duty Gear.
Here is a breakdown of some of the EOTech Holographic sights:
The EOTech XPS2 holographic sight is smaller and lighter than the other HWS sights and run on a single lithium 123 battery. Using it’s single battery configuration, it allows more rail space on your weapon for rear iron sights, magnifiers or night vision mounts. Smaller, lighter and always fast; the XPS series is a great compact option for your platform.
EOTech 512.A65 Holographic Sight
EOTech’s most popular holographic sight, 512.A65 is great for agencies and tactical teams that want the best speed and versatility in close quarters combat. Uses AA sized batteries in lithium or alkaline and comes in black and two styles of camouflage.
EOTech 552.A65, 552.XR308 and 552.XR500 Holographic Sight
Standardized by the DEA, ATF, and FBI SWAT, the Model 552 is by far the most popular HWS model for military application. This night vision compatible, AA battery model is the sight of choice by military units like Stryker Brigade, 10th Mountain, and 3rd Infantry. It is battle proven to withstand the abuse that any harsh environment, high powered weapon platform, or military mission can dish out.
EOTech 517.A65 Holographic Sight
The 517.A65 was developed to optimize the functionality of the HWS. The buttons have been moved from the back to the left side for instant access, allowing a magnifier or a back up iron sight to fit closely to the HWS body. This new button position allows the user to operate the HWS function switches easier than ever before. Additionally, a portion of the front base has been raised to allow the sight to fit over standard hand guards found on many M-4 or M-16 style weapons. Runs off of lithium or alkaline AA batteries.
EOTech EXPS2 Holographic Sight
Offering true 2 eyes open shooting, a transversly mounted lithium 123 battery, and 7 mm raised base offering iron sight access, the new EXPS2 features easy to adjust side buttons and an adjustable, locking, quick detach lever for easy attachment and removal. The reticle is a 65MOA circle with 1 or 2 MOA aiming dots and it comes in black or tan.
